
MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGY
Special Admission Requirements/Prerequisites
- Applicants should have a high school average of at least 80%, should have taken biology, chemistry (or equivalent), Math 9 and Math 10
- NAACLS Accreditation guidelines require that a procedure be established for determining that the applicant’s or student’s health will permit them to meet the technical standards of the program. In compliance with this provision, a pre-admission medical health examination is required of all the applicants after acceptance to the program. Clinical affiliates require that this health information be on file before students participate in clinical training
- Lab coats must be worn and all safety protocol followed in all laboratory courses.
- A minimum grade of “C-” must be obtained in all ML prerequisite courses to progress in the curriculum.
- Students must carry student liability insurance and provide their own transportation to off-campus rotation sites.
- For graduation, students must have an overall QPA of 2.0 and a minimum grade of C- in ML courses. Students must have completed all Clinical Laboratory Rotation requirements and must have completed a minimum of 23 credit hours in Liberal Arts and Science.
