Program Description
The Office Technology Curriculum at Erie Community College prepares students to become professional Administrative Assistants. Graduates possess mastery of office skills and a wide knowledge of contemporary business practices and techniques. They are capable of assuming responsibility without direct supervision, are able to assist executives in daily business operations, and can make decisions within the scope of their authority.
Specific courses will be offered in language arts and communication skills; computer concepts, applications, and procedures; and office/administrative procedures. Training will be conducted on state-of-the-art equipment and software.
For students desiring on-the-job experience prior to graduation, an internship course may be available.
Through this program, individuals may prepare for Civil Service tests, Microsoft Office Specialist tests, and Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) tests.
