Special Programs

Mission

The mission of the Pathways to success Department is to increase the successful movement of students from basic educational programs to college completion though partnerships between Erie Community College, Buffalo Public Schools Adult Education Division, Erie 1 BOCES, Kenmore-Tonawanda School District, and Maryvale Community Education and Erie 2 C.C. BOCES.  These partnerships will include a common design of student intake, seamless education services and timely connections between the aforementioned institutions.

The Pathways to Success Program is for someone at least 17 years of age who is not eligible to be enrolled in high school and wishes to enroll at Erie Community College.

Services Offered

  • Assistance with Financial Aid Forms and College Application procedures
  • Individualized Academic and Career Counseling
  • Streamlined admission into a wide range of degree, certification, and vocational training programs

Individualized Courses

  • GED (General Equivalency Diploma) - those lacking a high school diploma
  • ESL (English as a second language)
  • Computer courses - including all MS Office software (Introductory level)
  • ELA (English Language Arts) and Mathematics - Developmental courses to prepare students for college level courses
