Science Courses: Science Courses: Lecture-laboratory courses count as single courses; i.e.; CH 300 and CH 301 count as one unit. Courses should be selected from at least 2 science areas.
Biology: BI 110/BI 115 and BI 112/BI 117 are recommended for the first year. Suggested electives for the second year include BI 150/BI 151, BI 152/BI 153, BI 230/BI 231, BI 212/BI 213, and BI 220/BI 221.
Chemistry: A chemistry sequence of CH 300/CH 301, CH 302/CH 303, CH 350/CH 351, CH 352/CH 353 at all campuses; CH 410/CH 411 and CH412/CH 413 at North campus are all recommended for students intending to transfer as chemistry majors.
Physics: PH 370/PH 371 and PH 372/PH 373 are recommended for most liberal arts-associate in science students. PH 480/PH 481 and PH 482/PH 483 are recommended for chemistry and physics majors. PH 484/PH 485 may be required for some engineering and medical schools. One physics sequence (maximum) may be used to satisfy the laboratory science requirement.
Mathematics: MT 125, MT 126, MT 143, as well as higher numbered courses are acceptable (except as indicated in course descriptions). Chemistry and physics require MT 181 and MT 182 for transfer with junior status, while biology and health sciences require MT 175 and MT 176.
For transfer to baccalaureate programs in the sciences, the following science and mathematics courses are suggested:
Chemistry: CH300-CH 303, CH 350-CH 353, CH 410-413*, PH 480-PH 483, MT 181-MT 182**
Biology: CH 300-CH 303, CH 350-CH 353, BI 110/BI15 or BI 121/BI 122, BI 112/BI 117 or BI 225/BI 226, BI 150-BI 153, BI 230/BI 231, PH 370-PH 373, MT 125-MT 126**
Physics: PH 370-373, PH 480-PH 485, MT 181-MT 182***
