Erie Community College ranked in top 100 by Community College Week
Erie Community College has been ranked among the top 100 two-year colleges in the nation in awarding associate degrees, according to Community College Week’s 2009 edition of “100 Top Associate Degree and Certificate Producers.”
ECC ranked 42th overall on the list, which the higher education publication based on statistics from the 2007-2008 academic year. The college awarded 1,774 associate degrees during that time period.
ECC was ranked 46th in 2008, awarding 1,670 associate degrees in the 2006-2007 academic year.
In addition, ECC was ranked 12th among the Top 50 Associate Degree producers in Criminal Justice and 12th in Security and Protective Services.
“ECC has once again been ranked among the 100 Top Associate Degree and Certificate Producers in the country,” ECC President Jack Quinn said. “Year after year, ECC’s national ranking is evidence of the college’s ability to deliver an excellent education to a large number of Western New Yorkers. And as we fulfill this role, we continue to drive economic growth in our region.”
