Erie Athletic Program finishes fifth in NATYCAA Cup standings
Erie Community College’s Department of Athletics is recognized as one of the top two-year college athletic programs in the country in the final National Alliance of Two Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA) Cup standings.
Erie finished tied for fifth in the scholarship division in the final 2008-09 standings in which colleges receive points for how they perform in NJCAA championships. Teams receive 20 points for first place, 19 for second place, etc.
Erie accumulated 116 points in the competition. Iowa Central Community College earned the top spot with 158.5 points.
The Kats top performances in 2008-09 were a national championship for the women’s bowling team and runner-up finished for ice hockey and men’s bowling.
