Quinn works with SUNY to obtain Dormitory Authority funding for student housing
The rules for funding student housing projects at community colleges throughout New York State could be changing, thanks to a resolution Erie Community College President Jack Quinn, working with State University of New York officials, helped amend in May.
The new resolution amended a previous resolution adopted in 1964 that limited the ability of community colleges to develop student housing and prohibited the use of state assistance to finance land acquisition and construction costs.
As a result of the changes, the State University is now exploring options with the Dormitory Authority for its participation in financing and developing student housing at community colleges.
Erie Community College meets the needs of a diverse student body and contributes to regional economic vitality by providing excellent, flexible, affordable and accessible educational programs in a multi-campus environment committed to continuous improvement.
