ECC Foundation Board of Directors elects new chair, members
The Erie Community College Foundation elected Cynthia A. Schwartz as chair of its Board of Directors for 2009-2010 at its annual meeting July 15, 2009. Mark L. Martin was elected vice chair, William R. Basile was elected treasurer and Maureen Rasp-Glose was elected secretary.
New members Nancy A. Gaglione and Susan Swarts were elected to three-year terms on the board. Gaglione, an interior decorator and owner of Nancy A. Gaglione Designs, served on the Board of Trustees at ECC from 2000-2009. She served as secretary of the Board for six consecutive years and chaired several Board committees. The college awarded Gaglione an Honorary Associate Degree of Humane Letters at its May 2009 Commencement. She and her husband Frank chaired the ECC Foundation’s 2009 Golf Classic.
Swarts, a corporate trainer with Evans National Bank, was previously employed at Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation (now National Grid) in work planning and scheduling, organizational effectiveness and was a senior consultant to the executive management team. She also served in senior administrative capacity with WNY Pediatric Ophthalmology and Cornell University’s Industrial Labor Relations School. Swarts is a graduate of Leadership Buffalo and a past president of Working for Downtown. She volunteered on the Foundation’s Strategic Planning and Implementation Committee in 2008-2009.
Returning board members are: Leona N. Backus, James DiMino, Patricia H. Mertz, Dennis P. Murphy, Anthony J. Picone, Diane Pudlewski, DDS, Vilasani M. Shambhag, MD, Donald Spasiano, and William D. Tate.
