ECC offers new Emergency Medical Technology: Paramedic degree
Erie Community College is now offering a new Emergency Medical Technology: Paramedic associate degree program, ECC President Jack Quinn announced Thursday, August 20, 2009.

The Emergency Medical Technology: Paramedic degree program trains students to respond to medical emergencies and to be effective components in the delivery of pre-hospital advanced life support.

To earn an associate degree in Emergency Medical Technology: Paramedic, students must successfully complete the Emergency Medical Services Provider certificate program and the EMT/Paramedic certificate program.

The Emergency Medical Technology Department will continue to teach the Basic Emergency Medical Technician course as a single certification option.

“The new Emergency Medical Technology: Paramedic associate degree program is another great example of how ECC provides academic programs that benefit the Western New York area. Many of our EMT graduates immediately go to work for many local first responder units that directly serve our community,” Quinn said.
