Boyd appointed to ECC Board of Trustees
Stephen Boyd has been appointed by New York State Governor David A. Paterson as the newest member of the Erie Community College Board of Trustees. Boyd, a resident of Buffalo, will serve for a seven-year term.

Boyd is currently a managing partner of O’Brien Boyd, PC Attorneys. He previously served as an associate attorney at the law firm of Ballow, Braisted, O’Brien & Rusin, PC.

Before entering the legal profession, Boyd was a reporter and anchor at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, anchoring weekday and weekend newscasts for Channel 7 Eyewitness News from 1989 to 1999.

Active in the community, Boyd is a trustee at Mount St. Joseph Academy and a board member for the Crusade Against Drunk Driving. He is a member of the Buffalo Broadcasters Association, the American Association for Justice and also is a swimming official for USA Swimming and the Bishop Neuman Swim League.

Boyd has received several awards, including the Genesee Mothers Against Drunk Driving Community Service Award; Erie County Bar Association Media Award for Domestic Violence Awareness; Hutch-Tech High School Alumni of the Year; Associated Press Award for General Excellence in Reporting; the Niagara Falls Mayor’s Award for Heroism and the Niagara Falls Fire Department Award for talking a suicidal individual off of the brink of Niagara Falls.
