ECC Volleyball Ranked Ninth
The Erie Community College volleyball team is ranked No. 9 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll. This is the second straight week Erie finds itself in the poll.

With an 11- 1 overall record and a 7-1 record in Region III competition, Head Coach Craig Starzynski has Erie is off to its best start since 1985. Erie won four of its five games last week including a 3-2 win at currently seventh-ranked Niagara County Community College.

The Kats are led on offense this year by sophomore Belinda Hernon, who is averaging 2.8 kills per game and 2.3 digs per game. Freshmen Alex DiGiore and Julia Matters are each averaging 2.3 kills per game. Freshman Katie Boxler leads all Region III setters with 8.9 assists per game.

Erie returns to action when it visits Genesee Community College at 6 p.m., Thursday, September 17.
