Fall 2009 enrollment increases 8 percent
Erie Community College has enrolled a record 14,328 students for the fall 2009 semester, an 8 percent increase from fall 2008, ECC President Jack Quinn announced Friday, September 18, 2009.
Of those students, 10,394 are full-time and 3,934 are part-time.
The number of full-time equivalent students has also increased by 7 percent to 5,735.
ECC’s current student population is made up of 3,231 first-time students; 1,048 transfer students; 2,321 returning and 7,728 continuing students.
Nearly half of ECC students, 47 percent, attend North Campus. Twenty-eight percent attend South Campus and 25 percent attend City Campus.
The college received 24,053 applications for the fall semester, up from 20,818 in fall 2008.
“The record enrollment at ECC is a credit to our diverse academic offerings, our talented faculty and staff and the support of the Board of Trustees.” Quinn said. “With our wide range of degree and certificate programs, students can choose from so many options that can lead them on the path directly into the workforce or onto attending a four-year school.”
