ECC Workforce Development offers free biomanufacturing training sessions
Erie Community College’s Department of Workforce Development will be holding two free, non-credit training programs in biomanufacturing, a component of the advanced manufacturing and life sciences industries. Classes will be held from 5:30-8:30 p.m. starting Tuesday, Sept. 29 or Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 in room B602 in Bretschger Hall at ECC’s North Campus in Williamsville.
With several career opportunities available in the high-tech sector in Western New York, this free program will qualify participants for job opportunities in the growing biomanufacturing field, Carrie Kahn, executive dean of workforce development, said.
It is recommended that prospective students have a high school diploma, GED, vocational training or associate degree, along with basic biology and mathematical knowledge at the high school level.
Participants may qualify for individual training accounts (ITAs), funded by the New York State Department of Labor.
