Erie Community College renews GEICO partnership
Erie Community College has renewed its partnership with GEICO to offer business classes to employees on-site at GEICO’s service center in Amherst, NY through 2012.
GEICO encourages its employees to obtain an associate degree in business administration for promotions and for transfer to other areas of the organization.
This unique partnership began in fall 2006 with one course. Since that time, more than 300 individuals have taken classes such as accounting, statistics, marketing, business finance and business law.
In the fall 2009 semester, 81 employees have enrolled in Marketing I and Accounting Principles II.
“Our partnership with GEICO is another great example of how ECC offers flexible educational options for the people of Western New York,” Quinn said. “Allowing workers to attend classes on-site and gain college credit is a win-win situation for the employees and for GEICO. We look forward to working with GEICO to continue this excellent program.”
Erie Community College meets the needs of a diverse student body and contributes to regional economic vitality by providing excellent, flexible, affordable and accessible educational programs in a multi-campus environment committed to continuous improvement.
