Men’s soccer ties Mercyhurst
The Erie Community College (0-10-2) men’s soccer team played to a 3-3 draw with Mercyhurst North East this afternoon in Orchard Park.

Erie struck first in the contest when Erik Greiner took a pass from Phil Barrett and knocked into the back of the net in the 20th minute.

After a Mercyhurst goal tied the game, Greiner converted a penalty shot late in the first half to give the Kats a 2-1 halftime advantage.

Erie would stretch its lead to 3-1 two minutes into the second half when Barrett set up Ben Boncore with a breakaway goal.

However, Mercyhurst (4-5-1) would tally the final two goals to earn the tie in the contest.

Erie will return to action Thursday, October 15 when it visits Niagara County Community College for a 4 p.m. game.
