Women’s soccer rallies to tie Jamestown in season finale
The Erie Community College (3-10-1) women’s soccer team came back from a two-goal deficit for a 2-2 tie with Jamestown Community College this afternoon in Orchard Park.
Jamestown took an early 2-0 lead before Erie freshman Suzanne Jacobs punched in a cross from freshman Mariah Hoeber to cut the deficit to 2-1 at the break.
The Kats then tied the game with a little more than 15 minutes remaining when sophomore Lauren Wzontek got free up the middle for a breakaway and pushed the ball past the keeper.
Wzontek played the first half in goal and made nine saves. Alyssa Ashcroft guarded the net in the second half, making 10 saves and not allowing a goal.
