Kats sweep Morris
The Erie Community College (4-0) ice hockey team won a pair of games at County College of Morris over the weekend. Erie won Saturday’s game 9-0 and was a 15-0 winner on Sunday.

Eleven different players scored for Erie against the Titans.

On Saturday, the Kats held a 45-9 shot advantage. Freshman Paul Brown led the way with two goals and two assists. Sophomore Dan Wendt finished with two goals and an assists. Also scoring for the Kats were Ryan Bauer, Michael Pratt, Todd Lyness, Kyle Chase and Ryan Vertino.

Wendt finished with two goals and two assists on Sunday while Brown finished with a goal and four assists. Lyness, Nicholas Friol, Theo Alger and Michael Krywcum all had two goals apiece.

All three goalies played for Erie over the weekend. Bryan Kalczynski made 10 saves in 60 minutes, Robert Corbett stopped four shots in 20 minutes and Alex Olszewski made six saves in 40 minutes.

Erie will play its home opener this Saturday, November 7 when it hosts John Carroll University at 3:15 p.m.
