Pamela Huber
Professor
Medical Laboratory Technology
Department:
Medical Laboratory Technology
Biography:
I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Medical Technology with a specialization in Clinical Microbiology. Before coming to ECC as a professor in the Medical Laboratory Technology/Medical Office Assistant Department, I worked as a research tech at UB and in the Microbiology Department at Buffalo General Hospital. I am certified as a medical technologist by the American Society of Clinical Pathology and have applied for a New York State license as a clinical laboratory technologist.
What have you learned while teaching at ECC?
Working with such a diverse group of students day to day and watching their skills develop makes in a worthwhile and rewarding experience that surpasses the hospital or lab setting.
What do your students like best about your class?
I try to keep the topics up to date and relevant to everyday life. I stress the one-on-one relationship with students so they feel comfortable about asking questions or discussing any concerns with me.
Any additional comments?
I feel the ECC is really a great place for students. The Medical Laboratory Technology Department provides a nurturing atmosphere that helps students achieve success.
