Edwards named golf All-American
Erie Community College sophomore golfer Mike Edwards (Alleghany/Alleghany-Limestone) became the school’s first-ever All-American in golf by finishing tied for eighth in the NJCAA Division III National Tournament.
The tournament, held June 2-6 at Chautauqua Golf Course, was contested over four days at the challenging Lake Course.
Edwards shot rounds of 74-75-73-78 for a total of 300 to finish at plus 12 for the tournament. He finished second among Region III golfers, two shots behind Kevin Kaye from Monroe Community College.
Three players tied for individual medalist honors at 295, just five shots ahead of Edwards in the field of 92 golfers.
