Blackburn signs National Letter of Intent

Erie Community College men’s basketball standout and NJCAA First Team All-American Ray Blackburn (Lackawanna/Lackawanna) signed a National Letter of Intent to attend St. Bonaventure University on April 16 at the Burt Flickinger Center.

Blackburn became just the second player in Erie history to be named First Team All-American and first since 1984 when he received the honor.  In addition, he was the Region III Player of the Year and was named to multiple All-Tournament Teams.

Blackburn helped lead the Kats to the NJCAA National Tournament where they finished eighth and a 27-7 final record.

For the season, he averaged 19.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 4.1 steals while appearing in every game.
