Alex Nwora - Head Coach
Since taking over the ECC men's basketball program during the 1999-2000 season, Alex Nwora has guided the Kats to seven 20-win seasons. ECC went 28-4 in 2010-11 and finished fourth in the 2011 NJCAA Division II Tournament, the Kats' highest finish in four trips under Nwora. The Kats have a 239-97 record during his time in the Flickinger Center, ranking Nwora second in wins in the program's history.
During his tenure, the Kats have won the Region III title four times: 2001, 2004, 2008 and 2011. He was chosen as the Region III Coach of the Year in 2001, 2008 and 2010, and was the District II Coach of the Year in 2001, 2004, 2008 and 2011.
In 2009, he was named the head coach of the Cape Verde National Team that participated in the Lusophony games in Portugal, taking home the silver medal, and the CAN tournament in Tripoli, Libya.
Nwora previously served as an assistant coach at Medaille College from 1996-1999. He is also a member of the Daemen athletics Hall of Fame. As a senior, Nwora averaged 19.6 points and 11.6 rebounds per game on his way to all-conference and All-America honors. Nwora is still the Wildcats' all-time leading rebounder and is the lone player in school history to score more than 1,500 points and snare 1,000-or-more rebounds. He ranks in the program's top 10 in scoring (fifth), steals (sixth) and blocked shots (eighth).
