Filing of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required for both federal and state aid including student loans. A completed FAFSA may be mailed to the federal processing center or filed online at http://www.fafsa.gov/. If FAFSA was filed online, an e-mail message will be sent to the student within five days detailing how to access the Student Aid Report (SAR). If an e-mail address was not provided or the student filed a paper application, the SAR will be mailed to the student within four weeks of filing. The college will also receive the FAFSA results electronically and notify the student if additional information is needed.
Note: ECC Federal Title IV school code for all three campuses is 010684.
Once the FAFSA is filed, students should go to http://www.tapweb.org/ to complete the New York State TAP application. If a paper FAFSA was filed, the student will receive a NYS TAP application in the mail which must be completed and returned in envelope provided. The TAP grant is for NYS residents attending a NYS school on a full-time basis. Part-time students should complete a NYS Aid for Part-Time Study (APTS) application.
FAFSA applications are available in the Financial Aid Office or at any high school. APTS applications are available in the Financial Aid Office. There is no application fee to apply for federal or state financial aid. Students must reapply each year.
The Financial Aid Office and/or funding agency will notify students of award(s).
