Programs for High School Students
Summer High School Programs include a credit bearing Summer College for High School Students, non-credit Summer Camps, and an Engineering Camp for girls offered by the University of Buffalo's BEAM program. The Summer College for High School Students is open to any student who is entering their junior or senior year in high school and is interested in earning college credit and exploring one of the many career areas offered at ECC.
Advanced Studies courses are taken during the high school day, are taught by the high school teacher, and are identical to the ECC course as described in the College Catalog. The courses cost one-third the cost of ECC's tuition, set by the State University of New York.
Articulation Agreements allow students to earn credit at ECC by successfully completing certain high school courses. A student can enroll into a program at ECC with credits already completed in high school. Articulated credit is free of cost and is awarded after the student is accepted at ECC.
Career Pathways is dedicated to helping students transition from high school to ECC. The staff is available to visit high schools to assist students with articulation credit and to advise students on the program that is right for them. This department also hosts tours of ECC's academic programs and the three campuses. Information and orientation sessions for incoming technology students are also offered.
