Non-credit Professional Development courses:

  • Computer Training Classes at 45 Oak Street, City Campus for Downtown Business Employees - Workforce Development, in partnership with our One Stop, will be offering non-credit computer training courses downtown at the convenience of our new facility located at 45 Oak Street next to the Flickinger Sport Center beginning in March 2008! There is complimentary parking for local business students located on the corner of N. Division and Oak Street. Courses will begann in the Spring 2008 and non-credit upskill offerings include: VISTA and XP for Windows, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Basic Keyboarding.   • The E Learning Center - Workforce Development in partnership with The E-Learning Center provides thousands of non-credit professional development training programs to upgrade your workplace skills. Courses are available online in a condensed and comprehensive format. Questions - call 851-1800.

  • NYS Insurance Professional Continuing Education Units - Take mandated New York State CEUs approved by the Office of Professions to maintain Insurance licensure requirements needed to practice in this professional discipline. Courses are available on-line, 24/7. There are sixteen (16) different course offerings including: Employment Law; Financial Management; Estate Planning; Ethics; Property Insurance; Life, Accident, and Health, Agency Operations, and Commerical General Liability Insurance.   • NYS Real Estate Professional Continuing Education Units - Our Virtual University offers you 24/7 access to continuing education courses. Choose from the NY 23 Hour Real Estate CE Package, or choose from 18 individual course offerings to fulfill your licensing regulations. Course options include: Home Inspection Basics; Asset Management; Liens, Taxes and Foreclosures; Home Inspection; Real Appraisal-Computer Based; Closing and Settlements Costs-Computer Based; Appraisal and Inspection Basics; Leasing and Property Management; Fair Housing; Contracts, Purchase and Sales Agreements; Tax Favorable Real Estate Transactions; Environmental Hazards; Real Estate Finance; Estimating the Gross Living Area; 1031 Exchanges; NAR Code of Ethics; Pricing to Financing and Risk Management.   • NYS Personal Lines, Property and Casualty, or Life, Accident, and Health Pre-Licensing Courses - Interested in changing to a new career? Workforce is offering three different Insurance classroom training courses. Training hours differ by topic. To register, call 851-1800.  New May-June Schedule will be posted in late April 2008.

  • NYSERDA Building Analyst Professional - Join Workforce in our newest course offerings which target the effiicient use of energy for residential homes. Course selections include: Building Analyst, Cooling Professiona, Heating Professional, and American Home Inspection Training. The Building Analyst training begins May 20, 2008 at the City Campus.   • Envelope Professional Training - This 36-hour course teaches contractors how to use building science technology to analyze and resolve residential energy efficiency issues in regarding indoor air assessment; thermal and pressure boundaries; air sealing work; duct diagnostics; window and door inspections; and ventilation system options.   • Cooling Professional NYSERDA Training - This 16-hour course, intended for experienced heating contractors, covers advanced cooling system diagnostic, evaluation and repair skills in preparation for the Building Performance Institute’s Cooling Professional written and field exams.   • Heating Professional NYSERDA Training - This 35-hour course covers advanced heating system diagnostic, evaluation and repair skills in preparation for the Building Performance Institute’s Heating Professional written and field exams.   • American Home Inspector Training - AHIT - This 150 hour classroom course prepares for a new career as a home inspector. Learn how to conduct a thorough home inspection from the moment of pulling into the driveway to writing up the report. After completing the course, you'll understand just what is needed to perform an actual inspection. The course is taught per the ASHI®, NAHI, and CREIA Standards of Practice and you'll experience an in-depth look at each component of a house. Hundreds of slides of actual situations are shown in order to give you the best possible learning environment. This unique class takes you through, in detail, all the phases of a home inspection - including three personal on-site inspections.   • Dental Hygiene Restricted Anesthesia Certification and CEU - This course provides Dental Hygenists with five continuing education course modules that are available for continuing education (CEU's) or limited Certification in Nitrous Oxide Sedation and Local Infiltration Aneshesia. Take any number of modules or register for the complete series. Call 851-1800 for the Spring 2008 schedule.

  • NY State Approved Infection Control Training - This three (3) hour course is designed to review various infectious diseases affecting the practioner. A certificate of completion will be issued upon the completion of the course which meets the NYS DOH Infection Control Training. To register call 851-1800.

  • Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting - This three (3) hour course is designed to provide health care professionals, teachers, coaches, and other professional staff to recognize indicators of Child Abuse and Maltreatment. A certificate of completion will be issed to meet NY State requirements. To register call 851-1800.

  • Wedding Planning Institute - Become a wedding planner by taking this forty (40) hour non-credit certificate course. Workforce has partnered with the Wedding Planning Institute and uses certified instructors to teach project activiites associated with the wedding planning industry.  Course dates in June 2008.  Click here for Wedding Planner Flyer!  Call 851-1800 to register.

  • SAT Test Prep - High School students can take this 18 hour test preparation course for the national SAT College admissions test. The course follows the Cambridge book series. This session will start May 20-June 5, 2008, Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the North Campus in Williamsville. To register call 851-1800.  Next classes are in May 2008.  CALL NOW!! 

  • Special Education Workshop - This course will provide the educator or parent of a special needs child the ability to prepare for the myriad of events that may take place during the special needs child's developmental career. For future dates call 851-1800.

Cancellation Policy:  ECC makes a decision to offer each course based upon community interest determined by advanced registration.  We reserve the right to cancel a course if there is insufficient enrollment.

Withdrawal/Refund Policy:  ECC will give a 100% refund with 24 hours notice.  Non-attendance does not mean an automatic withdrawal; you must contact the Department of Workforce Development at 851-1800 to cancel your registration.
