One Stop Center

The Erie Community College One Stop Center is an 8 year partnership with agencies in the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) One Stop system. The primary goal of the One Stop is to help jobseekers access the skills they need to obtain employment while linking qualified jobseekers to hiring employers. All One Stop services are cost-free.

If you're looking for a job - from entry level to technical to professional - our knowledgeable staff and One Stop resources can help!  Explore alternative career paths, upgrade your computer skills, compare salary data for different occupations, learn which careers are hot, get résumé writing tips and job interview strategies, and much more!

Our cost-free services for jobseekers include:

  • Access to state-of-the-art computers for job searching and job listings
  • One-on-one skills assessments
  • Career counseling
  • Many complimentary computer classes including: Vista, Word 07, Excel 07, Access 07, Word for Résumés, PowerPoint 07, Publisher and more (made possible through the ECC Foundation)
  • Complimentary workshops, including: Résumé Writing 101, Stress Management, Business Communication, Modern Interview Techniques, Selling Yourself to the Employer, How to Work With Difficult Colleagues, How to Post Your Résumé Online, Telephone Techniques...and more!
  • Job search strategies
  • Referrals to onsite partner agencies, including the New York State Dept. of Labor, Supportive Services Corporation, BOCES, the Adult Learning Center, the Buffalo and Erie County Workforce Development Consortium, and more!
  • Onsite Youth Services
  • Information on financial aid and linkages to potential grants
  • Tuesday and Thursday evening GED classes, as well as math/English refresher courses

Businesses can identify job-ready workers with the right skills through our cost-free services:

  • No-fee applicant referrals
  • Prescreening of applicants
  • Use of the One Stop Center for recruiting and interviewing
  • Electronic résumé bank
  • Post jobs openings
  • Possible financial incentives for hiring/training eligible candidates (On the Job Training Program)
  • Breakfast Clubs (targeted recruitment events where we supply coffee, bagels, and job candidates)

The One Stop Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Evening hours for workshops and computer classes are on Tuesday and Thursday evenings until 8 p.m.
