Department Prefix 888 (Course Name) 1-6 cr. hrs.

Designates a course taken at another institution and accepted for transfer credit by the department. This course number is used whenever no comparable course exists in the college catalog. This course number may appear more than once on a student transcript.

Department Prefix 998 (Course Name) Variable Credit

Designates a new course offered by the department which is being evaluated as to the appropriateness of the course to the major and/or the interest of students in enrolling in this particular topic. This course number may appear more than once on a student transcript.

ARCH. GRAPHICS
A two-part course. Part one deals with lettering and the basic principles of projection as they relate to and are used in the production of architectural working drawings. Part two covers the production and interpretation of architectural working drawings for a small residential structure reflecting standard architectural procedures for drawing, dimensioning, and symboling. ARCHTECTRL PRESNTATN
A lecture/laboratory class introducing and governing the production of architectural drawings. Topics include one and two-point perspective. The students will produce both one- and twopoint perspectives. Concurrent with: AR 311. F (S)

CODES AND STANDARDS
A course combining an introduction to the profession of Architecture and how the Architect relates to the individual, the community, and society and how that parallels to the way codes govern construction based upon the study of The Building Code of New York State. F (S)

ARCHITECTURE I
A lecture/lab class continuing the production of working drawings for complex domestic structures. Detailing and mechanics are introduced with the whole project reflecting code application and compliance. The lab is for instruction and production of working drawings for complex domestic structures. Prerequisite: AR 108, AR 125, and AR 228. S (S)

ARC METHODS&MATERALS
An introductory course dealing with natural and man-made materials employed on construction projects of all types. Proprietary products and systems are covered as influencing factors in the design, cost, and erection of structures. F (S)
 
AR-282
APPLIED MECHANICS
A basic course in mechanics, including statics and strength of materials as related to buildings and building structural systems with an introduction into structural design procedures. Topics include principles of equilibrium, analysis of frame systems, stress distribution, member configuration, and deformation. Prerequisite: AR 108, AR 125, and AR228, Concurrent with: MT 121 or MT125, PH 230 and PH 231. S (S)

ARCHITECTURE II
A lecture/laboratory class introducing the management and techniques used by various firms in the design and production of construction documents for commercial structures. Prerequisites: AR 211, AR 282, and AR 342. Concurrent with: AR111 and AR 384. F (S)

C.A.D. APPLCA. ARCH.
This course deals with the basic principle of using a CAD System in the architectural or design/build industry. Major topics include, user definable features, system management, project development, and three dimensional design. Prerequisite: AR 108, AR 125, AR 228 S (S)

ENGIN. CONTRACTS
A lecture/recitation course in the basic principles and law of contracts and its application in the preparation of construction documents. Special attention is directed toward standard AIA legal forms and the preparation of specifications using the CSI format. Prerequisite: AR 311 S (S)

APPLIED STRUC DESIGN
A course dealing with the basic design principles for steel and concrete structural members utilizing handbook procedures in their selection and use. Concurrent with: AR 311 F (S)

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
A lecture/laboratory course dealing with the elements of design and the production and solution of selected design problems. Prerequisite: AR 311. S (S)

MECH. FOR BUILDINGS
The inclusion of heating, air conditioning, electrical, plumbing, and sanitary systems into structures plus their influence on and correlation with structural and architectural requirements. Prerequisite: AR 311. S (S)

ARCH. DETAILING
The planning for, selection of, and the correlating of proprietary products and systems into solving details for architectural working drawings. Prerequisite: AR 311. S (S)
 
AR-432
PHOTOGRAPHY & MODELS
The use of a digital camera in construction for recording and reporting purposes plus the methods and materials for building architectural space models. Prerequisite: AR 311. S (S)
