The following two generic course descriptions are available to each department listed on this page.
Department Prefix 888 (Course Name) 1-6 cr. hrs.
Designates a course taken at another institution and accepted for transfer credit by the department. This course number is used whenever no comparable course exists in the college catalog. This course number may appear more than once on a student transcript.
Department Prefix 998 (Course Name) Variable Credit
Designates a new course offered by the department which is being evaluated as to the appropriateness of the course to the major and/or the interest of students in enrolling in this particular topic. This course number may appear more than once on a student transcript.

HONORS PROGRAM | | | | HP-100 | | HONORS COLLOQUIUM I | | Honors students required to take 3 semesters for graduation in program. Fourth semester is optional. F/S (C, N, S) A weekly colloquium required of students in the Honors Program, designed to increase student exposure to the arts, sciences, and humanities and to provide increased awareness of their relevance to culture and social institutions. Students will participate in tours, lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and debates on a wide range of topics to be determined each semester. Three semesters required for graduation in the Honors Program. A fourth semester is optional. At the completion of this course, students should be able to: 1. Show evidence of serious reflective consideration of colloquium topics. 2. Provide evidence of active participation in colloquium activities. Achievement of the course objectives will be measured by: a. Either the keeping of a journal to be submitted to the Honors coordinator, or the submission of other written evaluation of activities at the coordinators discretion. b. Class participation and attendance. c. Participation in college/community service. d. Maintenance of a portfolio. NOTE: Interdisciplinary and other unique courses may be offered as Special Topics courses through various departments. Other Honors courses will be offered as reserved sections of existing courses.
