Student Insurance
Full time students (12 or more credit hours) are automatically charged a fee for a mandatory accident insurance plan that covers unpaid medical-surgical expenses up to a maximum of $2500.00 for most types of accidental injury whether sustained on or off campus. Part-time students taking at least 6 credit hours are eligible and encouraged to participate in the accident insurance program. For a minimal fee, these part-time students may enroll in the accident insurance program. Allied Health students are urged to enroll in the accident insurance program so that they will have some coverage in the event of a needle stick or other exposure incident during the clinical experience. Enrollment forms for part-timers are available in the Health Office at each campus.
Students have the opportunity to purchase low-cost, basic sickness and supplemental insurance. An enriched (more comprehensive policy) is also available. Insured students, may include dependent coverage if desired. You must apply for this coverage and pay the required premium in full, directly to the Plan Administrator, Niagara National, Inc. before your insurance will take effect. The sickness/supplemental plan is not covered by financial aid. The insurance brochure with enrollment form may be obtained in the campus Health Office or at the website listed below. It is best to research all of your health insurance options, such as family coverage through your parent's policy, an employer-sponsored health plan, government programs, or private insurance policies, in order to determine which plan best meets your needs. If you need to verify full-time status in order to stay covered under a parental policy, take your insurance company form to the Registrar’s office after the Drop/Add schedule adjustment period is over.
Student athletes have additional injury coverage included, beyond the Basic Accident Insurance, and paid for through the Athletic Department.
The College has a special required program for International Students attending the College. These students should not select the optional sickness, supplemental insurance.
