25th NFADA Ron Smith Memorial Auto Competition

About This Event

The Niagara Frontier Automobile Dealers Association and SUNY Erie will be hosting the 25th annual NFADA Ron Smith Memorial AutoTech Competition on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 9 a.m., at the Vehicle Technology Training Center, 5885 Big Tree Road, Orchard Park. The awards ceremony will be at 3 p.m.

Seven local area high schools will compete in both a vehicle troubleshooting portion and on various work stations for the opportunity to attend the National Auto Tech Competition in New York City in the spring as well as earning tuition scholarship money from various sponsors upon enrolling in Automotive Technology programs at SUNY Erie.

The competing schools are: Genesee Valley Educational Partnership, Harkness Career and Tech Center, Hewes Educational Center, Kenton Career and Tech Center, LoGuidice Educational Center, Niagara Career and Technical Center and W.D. Ormsby Center. Ford Motor Company is the vehicle sponsor and will be providing six 2019 Ford Explorers for the students to compete.

Other sponsors of this event include local new car dealerships, several automotive vendors and car manufacturers. The event is free. All are welcome to attend!
