The SUNY Erie Community College Driver Education Program is a comprehensive program providing each student with six hours behind-the-wheel training, a minimum of 18 hours in-car observation and 24 hours of classroom lectures. Successful completion of the course will qualify the student for DMV Certification of Completion (MV-285). Students successfully completing the program will also be issued a one year complimentary AAA basic membership. The cost for class is $475, which can be paid in full online or by certified check or money order (payable to ECC Driver Ed).

Attendance and Fee Policy: (Please read carefully)
The New York State Education Department requires that you attend all classroom lectures and driving labs. All students must attend 27 hours of classroom lectures and 24 hours of driving lab. A passing grade on both the written exam and driving skills tests is required.
There is a replacement fee of $25 if the Certificate of Completion has been lost and needs to be replaced.
Registration must be received by by Tuesday, September 4 for the Fall Session. Classes may fill before the above dates, so early registration is advised. Your payment ensures your spot in the class. Classes need a minimum of 17 students and will take a maximum of 36. There is a $50 cancellation fee for canceling your class within one week of the start date.
