Beginning in the Fall 2023 semester, MJ Mechanical Services, Inc. will sponsor a group of students earning certificates in Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology. This partnership marks the latest expansion of SUNY Erie’s efforts to work with private employers in high-demand fields to attract students and support the local workforce.

SUNY Erie proudly hosted SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr. for a tour of North Campus and the Northland Workforce Training Center on April 5. Chancellor King, the former U.S. Secretary of Education, also met with scores of faculty members, staff, students and alumni, engaging them in discussions about how SUNY can best support the college. SUNY Erie marked the 37th stop on Chancellor King’s semester-long tour of all 64 SUNY campuses.
SUNY Erie Nursing Students in Simulation Lab

The Buffalo News recently highlighted SUNY Erie's nursing program in a story about nursing simulation labs and their important role in nursing education. SUNY Erie's advocacy work at the state level, alongside other higher education institutions, has since resulted in passage of legislation allowing nursing students to complete one-third of their clinical hours in a simulation lab. Culture Club Flags

When Valensera Hasan arrived on North Campus last fall, she immediately noticed the cultural diversity of the student body. As a Kurdish refugee from Syria, Valensera thought it would be nice to have a way for all students to gather and share their cultures. With the help of SUNY Erie Dean of Students Jason Perri, Valensera quickly took her idea from concept to reality, creating the Culture Club.
