Emergency Medical Services Provider (Certificate)
Program Description
Program Goal: To prepare Paramedics who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor
(skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession.
This new certificate will require students to complete the SUNY general education courses which are available at all campuses. This certificate will also ensure that the student completes core development courses in math, science, humanities, social science, EMT and other fields to be better rounded students and lifelong learners.
The Emergency Medical Services Provider certificate, in conjunction with successful
completion of the Paramedic certificate, will enable the student to receive a SUNY
Associate of Applied Science degree.
Program Details
Pre-Admission Recommendations: Basic EMT Course
Individuals must be 17 years old to receive New York State EMT certification.
Applicants must be physically fit in order to provide pre-hospital emergency medical
care.
Applicants must not have any felony convictions or current charges.
