SUNY Erie Nursing Students in Simulation Lab

The Buffalo News recently highlighted SUNY Erie's nursing program in a story about nursing simulation labs and their important role in nursing education. SUNY Erie's advocacy work at the state level, alongside other higher education institutions, has since resulted in passage of legislation allowing nursing students to complete one-third of their clinical hours in a simulation lab. Culture Club Flags

When Valensera Hasan arrived on North Campus last fall, she immediately noticed the cultural diversity of the student body. As a Kurdish refugee from Syria, Valensera thought it would be nice to have a way for all students to gather and share their cultures. With the help of SUNY Erie Dean of Students Jason Perri, Valensera quickly took her idea from concept to reality, creating the Culture Club.

After dropping out of high school, Ian Stover enrolled in SUNY Erie's Pathways program and earned his GED, finding the guidance he needed. He will graduate this spring with an associate degree in Social Science and plans to attend the University at Buffalo in the fall to add a bachelor’s in Legal Studies. One day, he hopes to attend George Washington University Law School. Discover how he found the right path!

A dozen events this year at SUNY Erie’s Burt Flickinger Athletic Center will bring more than 6,400 visitors to downtown Buffalo and generate more than $6 million for the local economy.
