The Ford ASSET track is a national Ford program, but SUNY Erie’s is the only one in the region. It offers not only an Automotive Service Technician (A.O.S.) degree upon completion, but also Ford Motor Company certifications that are recognized at Ford and Lincoln dealerships nationwide. SUNY Erie Community College recently celebrated 86 graduates who earned certificates or associate degrees from the college’s Mechatronics and Mechanical Engineering Technology programs taught at Northland Workforce Training Center. The graduates will enter the workforce with in-demand skills, ready for employment in the region’s advanced manufacturing sector.

WKBW-TV aired a story about the Elite Basketball Camp for local youth at SUNY Erie, hosted be the Jordan Nwora Foundation. Nwora, a Buffalo native, plays for the Indiana Pacers. His father, Alex Nwora, coaches the SUNY Erie men's team.

SUNY Erie, in partnership with the Statler Foundation and Visit Buffalo Niagara, will launch a new pilot program for its Hotel Restaurant Management students. The innovative “Earn to Learn” initiative will create career pathways, scholarship opportunities, on-site training, and employment for hospitality students as they earn college credits.
