SUNY Erie Community College has appointed Dr. Adiam Tsegai as the College’s Interim Provost effective July 3, 2021. Dr. Tsegai currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs of Health Sciences, Engineering and Technologies.

“I am happy to announce the appointment of Dr. Adiam Tsegai to Interim Provost at SUNY Erie,” Interim President Bill Reuter said. “Dr. Tsegai has worked diligently over the past few years to advance high quality academic standards, diversity, and access at SUNY Erie. There is no one better suited to take on the role of the Chief Academic Officer at the College.”

Dr. Tsegai joined SUNY Erie as the Dean of Engineering and Technologies in 2018 and was promoted to her current position of Associate Vice President in January 2021.

Prior to her time at SUNY Erie, Tsegai held positions of increasing rank at the Bryant and Stratton College from 2002-2018.

In addition to earning her Associate Degree in Liberal Arts and Social Science from SUNY Erie, Dr. Tsegai received her B.A. in Psychology and African American Studies, her M.Ed. in General Education, and her Ph.D. in Educational and Leadership Policy and Social Foundations from the University at Buffalo.
