Welcome Our New VP of Student Affairs, Dana Horne!

Welcome Dr. Dana HorneDr. Dana Horne is a seasoned student affairs leader with over 25 years of experience dedicated to advancing student success, equity, and wellbeing. She was recently hired and now serves as the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at SUNY Erie, where she provides strategic leadership for student services across multiple campuses. Her work is rooted in a trauma-informed, student-centered approach that prioritizes compassion, accountability, and inclusion.

Previously, Dr. Horne served as Vice President for Student Services at Cochise College, where she spearheaded initiatives to enhance persistence, expand access, and build equitable pathways for student achievement. A steadfast advocate for meeting students where they are, she is known for guiding learners through academic and personal challenges with empathy and purpose.

Her leadership style is deeply influenced by her background as a Division I collegiate rower and competitive athlete. This foundation instilled in her the discipline, resilience, and collaborative mindset she brings to every endeavor.

Outside of her professional life, Dana is a proud mother of two, dog lover, and outdoor enthusiast. She enjoys sailing, hiking, and cooking, and finds joy in time spent with family and in nature.
