    Brewing Science and Service

    The brewing industry has grown in recent popularity with expansions in craft beers, microbrewing and brewpubs. As a result, there is an increase in desire to learn more about beer brewing and management. The Brewing Science and Service certificate program offers students the theoretical knowledge and lab skills in the area of brewing beer. Students learn about brewing equipment and ingredients, the sensory evaluation of beer and the chemistry and microbiology of beer brewing. Also, they are exposed to the business side of the brewing industry in an off-site internship into the internal operations of a brewery.

    Building Trades/Residential Light Commercial

    As our national architectural treasures age, we will continue to need individuals who are knowledgeable in rehabilitation and renovation of these structures. The Building Trades/Residential Light Commercial program provides students with hands-on experience along with classroom instruction. In the program, students will develop an understanding of electrical and plumbing systems, basic carpentry, blueprint reading and estimating. In addition, students will participate in a real-life residential or renovation project.

    Computer and Electronics Technology

    Computers and electronic technology have permeated every sector of society from account managing and education to personal bill paying and entertainment. As advances in the industry occur, so will the need for technicians to service these technologies. The Computer and Electronics Technology program curriculum teaches students basic and advanced electronics, microprocessors and controllers, digital logic and more. Upon completion of the program, students are eligible for their ISCET Certified Electronic Technician Certification.

    As the nation’s population ages, so will the demand for vision care services. Students in the Vision Care Technology program will learn the various ocular disorders and refraction abnormalities. They assist in vision screening, perform diagnostic testing and provide products to individuals that meet their vision needs in various settings. And a range of vision products are covered including single and multifocal lens, conventional and specialty frames and contact lens.
