Graphic Communications Technology A.A.S. degree prepares students with the technical
skills needed to produce a variety of products found in the field, transforming ideas
into digital and print media. Topics will introduce the creative process and all of
the steps in between to produce the final product. The degree develops strong computer
skills using the current industry-standard software in addition to hands-on lab assignments
incorporating traditional printing process, digital and wide format printing. The
degree includes a capstone course, highlighting skills learned throughout the program,
culminating in a strong portfolio that can be used to give an advantage when seeking
employment after graduation. May include an opportunity for a job shadow or internship
option. The program prepares students for entry-level positions in printing, publishing
and related industries.
To successfully complete the program, a candidate must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average in all departmental courses and a minimum overall Erie Community College GPA of 2.0.
